Evening Primrose Oil is most recognized for promoting women’s health. Its effectiveness stems from an ingredient called gamma-linolenic acid, or GLA, and essential fatty acid thought to have anti-inflammatory or other healing powers. Evening Primrose Oil contains highly concentrated amounts of GLA unlike many other foods. When ingested, GLA is converted to prostaglandins, compounds that help regulate several bodily functions.
